About Us

ReadEasy was formed out of the realization that with today's technology, the reading experience of texts, either online or offline, can be improved. Specifically, we focus on the reading comprehension stage, both improving comprehension speed and improving comprehension quality. Basically, no matter how one reads a piece of text, the understanding of the text is the most crucial part of the reading process and we aim to help the readers with this challenge.

The Founders, Mr. Uri Avissar and Dr. Ari Rappoport have come up with the core idea in 2007. The first employee of the company, Mr. Israel Ben Tal, our CTO has joined at the end of 2007.

As we offer a new approach to handling dictionary and encyclopedic information, we constantly strive to improve our service. Hence feedback from users is very important to us. If you have any comments or ideas you would like to share with us, or even rants, please do so. We promise to review and take into account all feedback submitted.

FAQ
How do I start using the ReadEasy service?

From the home page you have two options-

  1. Click on "Upload a document" and select a document you would like to read. The system will then start analyzing the text you selected. When the system is done, it will prompt you to either log in or register. After selecting one of those options, the system will continue to process your file. When it is done, your document will be opened in our Viewer/Editor, with an initial selection of Readlets embedded within the text.
  2. You can log on directly to your "My Library" page by entering your email and password. From the "My Library" page you can click on "Upload a document" or select one of your older documents to be viewer in the Viewer/Editor.

What is a Readlet?

Readlets are definitions and explanations that the ReadEasy system embeds within a specific text. The Readlets are created from various dictionaries & encyclopedias, which cover multiple topics.
Furthermore, the Readlets are tailored to the reader's knowledge level in the language.

Why do you need an email?

The email addresses users provide us are used in two ways:

  1. As the user name
  2. As a means of communication with the registered user.
We do not share the email address with any other party.

Why do you ask for a file to be uploaded?

In order for the ReadEasy systems to analyze the text and provide you with the best possible Readlets, ReadEasy needs to process the file first. Hence, the file needs to be uploaded to the system.

Will my files be accessible to everyone?

No! By default, the files you upload will not be visible to anyone else.

Will I have to log in every time in order to use the system?

Yes you will. This is done so we can identify you and tailor the Readlets to your knowledge level.

How much does the ReadEasy service cost?

The ReadEasy service is a “pay per use” service. This means that you pay only when you use the system. Furthermore, the usage price changes according to the length of the document; hence there is no set price. You can review the cost for the specific document you have uploaded before its processing is complete. Without your approval, the processing will not continue.

For “heavy” users we have subscription options as well, which can be viewed under the “Payment History & Payment Options” tab.
